Living in the Tension of Saturday
Living in the Tension of Saturday
Inspired by Philip Yancey
We know the story.
Good Friday ends in death. Easter Sunday bursts forth with life.
But we rarely talk about Saturday—the in-between day.
The day when heaven is silent.
The day when it looks like evil has won.
The day when hope feels like a distant memory.
Saturday is where many of us live.
It’s the season of unanswered prayers,
of aching loss,
of promises unfulfilled.
It’s the place between the “Why, God?” and the “He is risen.”
And yet, Saturday is not the end.
The silence of Saturday doesn’t mean abandonment.
It means waiting.
It means trusting when there is no evidence to trust.
It means holding on to a promise when everything around you screams otherwise.
In Saturday, faith is refined.
Hope is tested.
Love is quiet but present.
If you’re living in a Saturday season, take heart—
Sunday is coming.
Resurrection is real.
And God is not finished.
